An Introduction to Body Language

Body language a Non-Verbal Communication

This course will help one to have an understanding of how our body language our movements, gestures, facial expressions, the way we talk, walk, sit and stand all say something about us, and whatever is happening on the inside which can be reflected on the outside. This is sometimes very subtle and sometimes not so subtle and quite obvious.

In this course you will learn that what a person is actually saying, is only part of what they are actually communicating. In this course you will learn how to read body language and the various non-verbal communications, the difference between what the conscious is communicating and what the subconscious is communicating.

This course will explain how non-verbal communication is a vital part of understanding and communication. It is suggested that speech only makes up about 20 to 30% of communication. The rest of the information is conveyed non-verbally, by tone of voice, facial expressions, eye-contact, gestures, how we stand, and so forth

By becoming more aware of body language and understanding what it might mean, you can learn to communicate with people more easily as it puts you in a better position to communicate effectively with them. Additionally by increasing your understanding of others, you can also become more aware of the messages that you convey to them.
